Have you ever heard of a Finch that drinks blood?
The Vampire Finch loves the taste of blood. It only inhabits the Wolf and Darwin Islands, in Galapagos Islands, Ecuador.
It lands on the tails of large sea-birds (mainly the the Nazca Booby and the Blue-footed Booby) and pecks at the base of the wing feathers. It then drinks the blood that seeps from the wounds.
It also eats seeds, eggs and invertebrates.
