Alice Cooper claims there are no rockers today

Alice Cooper has claimed that there are no modern rock’n’roll stars because today’s crop of musicians don’t have any “testosterone”.

In a recent interview, the veteran rocker claimed that modern artists are too cerebral and don’t have the same raw intensity that he and his contemporaries had.

“I lived in that era of Keith Moon, John Lennon, the Hollywood Vampires drinking club,” he said. “All our friends were dying at 27.”

He then went on to add, “If you’re a rock star you’re supposed to do that. There are no rock stars any more. They’re lacking in so much testosterone. I keep looking for the 17-year-old kid who wants to hang his guitar down here and play it from his crotch, not his brain.”

The singer, whose real name is Vincent Furnier, also said he had no intention of retiring his crazed alter-ago. “People like Alice so much, why would I want to invent another character?,” he said. “You think I get bored with it? I don’t. I think Alice is infinitely fun to play.”

Alice Cooper released his 22nd studio album ‘Welcome 2 My Nightmare’ in September of last year.
