Daft Punk new single is something special

Fatboy Slim is coming in his pants over the French band, Daft Punk’s new comeback single, ‘Get Lucky’.

He reckons that by teaming up with Chic’s Nile Rodgers, Pharrell Williams and Giorgia Moroder on ‘Random Access Memories’ they have created the last, great supergroup album.

He said: “I’m so impressed by them. It’s a breath of fresh old school air. I’m glad Daft Punk have given us all a kick up the arse. They are so simple and melodic. They’re the last great dance music supergroup you’ll hear.”

Fatboy Slim, real name Norman Cook, also added that he is so impressed by Daft Punk’s new record that it has put him off making a new album himself.

Last week, it was revealed that Daft Punk’s new single ‘Get Lucky’, which features Pharrell Williams on vocals, had broken spotify records by becoming the most streamed song in a 24-hour period in the UK and US. ‘Random Access Memories’, which also features cameos from Julian Casablancas, Todd Edwards, Panda Bear, Chilly Gonzales and Nile Rodgers, is released on May 20.
