New material in the offing from Nine Inch Nails

There is some new material coming from Nine Inch Nails, according to the band’s frontman Trent Reznor.

When asked if he’d be making any more music with Nine Inch Nails, he responded: “All signs point to yes… Yeah, there will be new music. There are some things in the works.”

He also discussed the possibility of playing live again, despite going on a 20th anniversary farewell tour with his band back in 2009. He said: “Yeah, if it feels right, it’s a possibility. I never said that that wasn’t going to happen, just that it couldn’t go on as it was.”

He added: “Stay tuned. We’ll see what happens here.”

Next week, Reznor, his wife, Mariqueen Maandig, and composer Atticus Ross will release the ‘An Omen’ EP, as How To Destroy Angels. Reznor promises a full length album from the band early next year.

Reznor has spent the past few years working on soundtracks for films such as The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo and the Oscar winning The Social Network.

Last year he said Nine Inch Nails was “not dead by any means, but all the touring and record writing has been thrown off for a little bit”.
