Keith Richards’ daughter is a rebel just like dad

  • Theodora Richards allegedly wrote ‘T-Heart-A’ on a New York convent. She ‘also had marijuana and hydrocodone pills on her’ at the time of arrest. The 25-year-old model was released without bail and did not enter a plea.
  •  The daughter of Rolling Stone Keith Richards has been arrested on graffiti and drugs charges in New York.

Model Theodora Richards, 25, was caught by police on Tuesday night allegedly defacing a convent building while in possession of marijuana and pills.

She appeared in court in Manhattan yesterday after spending Tuesday night in police cells.

Miss Richards, who has starred in campaigns for Burberry and Tommy Hilfiger, is said to have told a police officer, ‘I hope I don’t get in trouble for this,’ when he allegedly discovered her in the act of vandalism.

The court heard police recovered an envelope containing marijuana from Miss Richards’ purse and eight-and-a-half hydrocodone pills, sold by prescription only in the U.S. as a pain reliever.

Miss Richards is alleged to have said of the pills, ‘I don’t have a prescription for them.’ She allegedly said she bought the pills from a dealer thinking it was Xanax.

The model was charged with making graffiti, possession of graffiti instrument, one possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana.

The court heard that on March 1 at about 10.40 pm New York time, police officer Christopher Davis saw Miss Richards use a paint marker to write the initials T and A on the wall of St Anthony’s Convent in Soho, Manhattan.

It was believed last night to either be a romantic note to a mystery ‘A’ figure or a dedication to her younger sister Alexandra, 24.

The case was adjourned until April 21 and she was released in the interim. She then left court without comment and was driven away.

Miss Richards, who lives in New York, is the Rolling Stone guitarist’s oldest child with his wife Patti Hansen, 54, herself a former model.

Miss Richards had previously claimed that, unlike her father, she was not interested in drugs and insisted that being a rebel was boring. She said at the time: ‘My dad’s generation was all about rebellions. I’m rebelling against my generation in a softer way.’

Richards, 67, is regarded as the wild man of rock and roll and is a former heroin addict. In total the music legend, who has four children, has been arrested five times on drugs charges, and been imprisoned once in 1967 for possession of four amphetamine tablets.

He was released from Wormwood Scrubs, West London, just 24 hours later pending an appeal which was successful. In 1978 he was given a suspended sentence by Canadian police after admitting heroin possession.

The writing on the convent wall is extremely small and hard to notice. But the nuns were disappointed by what they found on the building.

Miss Richards started modelling aged 16 when posing with younger sister Alexandra and Elizabeth Jagger, daughter of rock star Mick, for a Tommy Hilfiger campaign.

Her career then took off and she has since been featured in fashion magazines such as Vogue, Glamour and Rolling Stone.

‘My dad’s generation was all about rebellion,’ she told celebrity website FemaleFirst in 2006. ‘I’m rebelling against my generation in a softer way.

‘Many of the kids around me just want to go out and party every night but I don’t. I’m not a big fan of drugs. Everybody’s had their own experience.’

No other arrests were made last night along with Miss Richards, but it is unclear if she was alone.
