Qld company unveil world’s biggest tea bag

A tea company on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast says it has made the world’s biggest tea bag to raise money for cancer research.

World's biggest tea bag

The giant tea bag weighs 151 kilograms, stands three metres high and would make about 100,000 cups of tea.

It will be officially unveiled later this month at Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea in Coolum.

But company spokesman Brian Condon says they will not be dunking the tea bag in hot water because they do not have a cup big enough.

“That could be next year’s record perhaps – the world’s biggest tea cup,” he said.

Mr Condon is still waiting for official confirmation, but he is confident his company’s tea bag is the world’s biggest.

The current record of 120 kilograms is held by a company in Portsmouth in England.
