A revolutionary new toothbrush which tells you when it needs replacing has gone on sale.
The toothbrush costs around $4 and it informs the user after three months. It has a window embedded in the handle and the word “replace” flashes up on it.
The technology, known as Timestrip, has been patented. A new toothbrush is 95% better than a three month old one at reducing plaque between teeth, according to the Dental Health Foundation.
Apparently, people wanted a more reliable method than the current one where bristles change colour. This is not as accurate because different water types and toothpastes affect the bristles.
