YOBS chanting “Jesus was a faggot” ambushed a churchman after a service.
Shocked Rev Tony Webster said the eight-strong gang launched the foul-mouthed gay abuse as he locked his church.
The minister, 62, said, “They started shouting things like ‘Jesus was a faggot’, ‘He was a fucking bastard’, that sort of thing. When I tried to talk to them it got worse.”
Police are investigating Sunday evening’s incident at the Independent Wesleyan Church in Finedon, Northants. Rev Webster said, “They attacked someone who I love very dearly in the Lord Jesus.
“It was frightening. In my 42 years in ministry I’ve never heard anything like it.”
