Siddle thinks competition amongst fast bowlers will benefit Oz cricket

Australian fast bowler Peter Siddle reckons the tough competition between the team’s fast bowlers for the upcoming Test series against South Africa is ideal for the country’s cricket.

Siddle, Mitchell Johnson, Trent Copeland, Ryan Harris and Pat Cummins will be fighting for three spots in the first match, which starts in Cape Town next week.

“The competition makes it exciting. It’s tough on all of us, but in the end it benefits Australia,” Siddle is quoted to have said.

“I think it’s a good thing that we’re up and fit and firing, and putting the pressure on each other, which makes us better as individuals,” he added.

Test Dates:

09-13 November 2011 – 1st Test – Cape Town
17-21 November 2011 – 2nd Test – Johannesburg
