Kieran Foran…the hottest property on the open market – is ready to sign a new three-year deal with Manly.
Foran’s manager, Paul Sutton, reportedly spoke with Manly officials at length on Wednesday afternoon. An announcement is imminent.
Foran had a get-out clause in his contract which could be activated immediately should then Manly coach Des Hasler leave Brookvale.
Hasler, of course, has departed and there was on-going speculation Foran would follow his former mentor to Belmore in 2013.
It is understood Canterbury-Bankstown displayed intense interest in Foran but the New Zealand five-eighth has decided to stay loyal with the Sea Eagles.
Foran received a healthy upgrade in his new deal.
With Foran staying and Brett Stewart poised to re-sign, Manly look as though they will retain their key players moving forward.
Centre Steve Matai and second-rower Tony Williams though remain unsigned for next season.
Williams now looks set to join either Parramatta or the Bulldogs.
Matai is still negotiating with the club amid on-going speculation of interest from Cronulla.
